MAX MCGEE'S PROFILE
I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.
I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.
"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!
Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."

Gossip Guy #3
Some of the best ways I've found to enhance your creative output.
Being unemployed and not in school (graduated, didn't drop out) really, really helps because you can work on rpgmaker like eight hours a day whenever you're not looking for a job or having sex or posting on these forums. This is what my life is like right now.
Back for the first GW Release something, I was in college and trying to pass classes and I still worked on rpg maker eight hours a day to release a complete game for the first GW release something, two or three years back. This was NOT SMART. I do not recommend it.

Max.
Your game looks incredible.
Please make your battles somewhat balanced and not poopy.
I thought of you when I was making this game, Craze (cause of the RTP/humor and everything), so I'm glad you like it. : )
(The rest of this post is also about my game, not screenshots, so I decided the polite thing to do would be hide tag it. It is not very long though.)
My battles freaking own (I hope). The entire game is based on them so if any part is good they are. There's no dungeons, no quests, just a succession of battles.
They're really hard and require finesse. Unless you're an Evoker, in which case finesse is optional and BOLTS is mandatory, but being an Evoker is almost like playing on easy.

What are you thinking about right now?
I hate being unemployed, but I will also probably hate having a job I hate.
It's only been three days so I guess I'm okay for now, thanks Veiraza.

Favourite game and program
Software: It would have to be rm2k3, I guess...though most of my favorite games tht other people made were for rm2k. I guess I'll say rm2k/3 as my official answer.
Favorite Games Made by Others: A Blurred Line, Three The Hard Way, Sunset Over Imdahl, Diary of a Madman, Tyrant God Saga (does anyone else remember this except Brandon?), Wow this is a lot of oldies, The Blue Contestant, I owe a debt to the longing ribbon, others I have doubtless forgotten, The Way!!!!!, Hero's Realm was pretty sweet.
Kenton A you should play more games made by other guys.

A Hand from Beyond the Grave
First, I'm excited to see a new game here finally!
Second, this project sounds like exactly the kind of game I want to play, like it was custom made to my tastes. I love liches!
Third, your world-building is in depth and excellent.
And all this enthusiasm without even glancing at the screens!
However, that is a MOUNTAIN of text, and I was unable to bring myself to read it all. Maybe you should leave some of that info out and save it to be revealed in the game itself? Just a thought.
Thoughts on the screens:
I feel like you could further darken screen tone and add rain to get the sort of gloomy/spooky, necromantic mood you seem to want so badly. This reminds me a lot of one of my very early rm2k projects, right down to the chipsets used and the basic premise. Of course, in that game you could (theoretically) also play as an inquisitor hunting the necromancers, although I only actually released the demo for the evil part of it.
Wait, there is a demo? I am so downloading this shit! Does this remind anyone else of Diary of a Madman? ;D

Getting a job. Anybody know how long it takes employers (A ROUGH AVERAGE) to respond to a resume sent to them in response to a posting on Craigslist? These are all quasi writing/editing related jobs and few or none of them are with large companies. I have submitted to six now, starting Monday, and have heard nothing back at all except a lot of indecisive/wishy washy stuff from the most sketchy of the six jobs. Is this normal? Sorry, the whole 'job market' is very new to me, this is the first September of my life I'm not in school of one form or another.
Unofficial Anime and Manga Discussion Topic
As the discussion roles right along, I wonder, has anyone even heard of/seen the animes I mentioned in my last post? (Except for cowboy bebop/NGE, of course, I mean the obscure ones.)
Right now I am sporadically watching Gunslinger Girl and Berserk.

Max Payne.
Marky Mark is not a very good actor but he's perfect for the Max Payne role.
See, I feel the opposite of this. I think Marky Mark is okay, but I thought he was an extremely weird choice for Max Payne. I think that Brad Pitt (thinking of his roles in Snatch or Seven) or Val Kilmer (thinking of the movie Spartan) would both be better choices.
Anyone know who's directing it and what their credentials are? (I know that I could just IMDB it, but I figure we're having a discussion about it here, so I can just be super lazy and ask.)
The original Max Payne had superb writing, I hope it jumps over into the film.
I agree, even though the writing in Max Payne was much maligned by video game reviewers even at the time for being over wrought/purple prose/laughable, which I, even as a ("professional") writer never understood. So I'm glad to see someone else who actually liked the writing.
